T HE OXIDATION by mushroom tyrosinnase of several isolated proteins of the blood dotting system has i)eenn reported by Sizeramid Wagley.’ Both thrombimn arid fibniniogenn is-crc so extensively oxidized i)y t.yrosinnase that they is-ould nno longer function inn the blood clotting system. Tyrosinnase is-as later shoisrn by Sizer2 to exert a marked innhibition of the dotting system of is-hole blood amid plasma both inn vivo arid inn vitro. It therefore seemed interesting from these results to investigate the actiomi of tyrosinase on the separate components of the blood clotting system of is-hole plasma. Such a study should bead to ann iuterpretationn of the action of t-yrosimnase onn ‘whole blood amid pbasma.
